Hi, my name is Amy Meisenzahl and I teach sailing to kids! You don’t have to know much about sailing other than the fact that it’s an expensive sport. Now, what do kids love doing to expensive things? Break it, drop it, or in this case…sink it. When the boat flips (capsizes) the rudder can fall off and sink. The only thing stopping it, is the tether (that crazy thing kids don’t put on).
After years of teaching sailing and watching countless rudders slip to the bottom of the Bay… I was fed up. Hundreds of dollars down the drain each season.
